IAPB UN Friends of Vision Webinar: The launch of the IAPB Vision Atlas and Lancet Global Health Commission on Global Eye Health
On 24 February 2021, the UN Friends of Vision hosted the formal launch of The Lancet Global Health Commission on Global Eye Health and the IAPB Vision Atlas. Over 600 Ambassadors and mission representatives, UN officials, academics, civil society, private sector organizations and media attended the event.
I was the Programme Lead on behalf of the IAPB MYT events team for this event which involved liaising with high-profile speakers and panellists and the professional moderator, journalist and TV personality, Femi Oke. With keynote addresses from H.E. Volkan Bozkir, President of the UN General Assembly and Henrietta Fore, Executive Director of UNICEF and responses from senior UN officials including Stewart Simonson Assistant-Director General of the WHO and Beate Andrees, Special Representative to the UN and Director of the International Labor Organization.
As always this was an incredibly inspiring webinar to be involved in and I particularly loved liaising with our speakers, the IAPB and technical teams to ensure a highly polished production.
